Leveraging Collaboration

About Rod Collins

Rod Collins has more than 30 years experience in leading and managing complex business alliances. As the former Chief Operating Executive of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee Program (FEP), he pioneered an innovative state-of-the-art management architecture that ended two decades of low growth and low performance for the $19 billion business alliance, resulting in a 16-point increase in market share and unprecedented operational and financial performance.

Rod is a leading expert and a keynote speaker on the next generation of business management. He helps business leaders redesign their management architecture so they may leverage the power of collaboration to effectively handle the unprecedented combination of accelerating change and increasing business complexity. The fundamental building blocks for the management redesign are the integration of the Collaboration Work-Thru and the Balanced Scorecard. A Collaboration Work-Thru is an innovative facilitated meeting process that enables leadership teams to aggregate their collective intelligence to successfully manage complex change. By integrating the strategic insight from the Collaboration Work-Thru with the focus of the Balanced Scorecard, organizations gain the capability to leverage an organization-wide shared understanding into extraordinary performance.

Rod is also the author of Leadership in a Wiki World: Leveraging Collective Knowledge to Make the Leap to Extraordinary Performance, which won the 2011 EVVY book award for Business/Finance. Rod earned his MSA in Business Financial Management from George Washington University and holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Catholic University.
